We are seeking a Sales Executive with prior success selling custom solutions or a professional service to B2B business owners, and CEOs of companies in the mid-market ($10M to $150M) range. Our objective is to give entrepreneurs a fighting chance to grow their businesses and reach their goals. You are looking for a career that allows you to close the deal and then hand off the client to our capable account management team.

Main Responsibilities for the Role

  • Placing outbound customer calls
  • Expanding customer databases
  • Building relationships with potential clients
  • Ensuring customer follow-up
  • Schedule and run sales meetings
  • Understanding & selling Deksia’s services to new clients
  • Meet quarterly sales and conversion goals

Skills or character traits we want to see in you

  • Negotiation
    Outbound Sales Representatives must know what to say and how to say it when negotiating with current and prospective clients to get the best deal possible.
  • Staying cool under pressure
    This is a very competitive field that requires you to think and act fast. You must also be comfortable with knowing that a portion of your paycheck is directly tied to the revenue you generate.
  • Natural extroversion & interpersonal skills
    Communication skills are critical for Outbound Sales Representatives, so it’s only natural for someone in this position to have an extensive network of contacts that they talk with regularly.
  • Problem-solving and critical thinking skills
    You must be able to resolve issues and customer questions quickly and effectively.
  • Sharp personal image
    You dress to impress because first (and second, and third…) impressions are everything. This still holds true in this virtual age – even if it’s just from the waist up!

Additional expectations for this role

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field and/or
  • 3-5 years of sales experience, including…
    • Prior experience in cold calling
    • Prior experience in selling B2B services to C-Suite Members
  • Reliable transportation

Skills / experience that we’d love to see

  • Advertising agency experience
  • Experience in a sales-based position such as:
    • Outbound Sales, Business Development, Inside Sales, Lead Generation
  • Strong persuasion and negotiation skills
  • Experiencing working with Hubspot to generate leads
  • Experience using Google Workspace and affiliated apps (Gmail, Docs, Drive, etc)
  • Familiarity with the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS)

Compensation & benefits

  • $58,500 – $78,000 + commission – The sky’s the limit for successful candidates in this role!

In nearly every case, our apprentices have completed their internship at Deksia, distinguished themselves, and shown the ability to make strong contributions in an area of need.

Apprenticeships are full-time paid positions and structured to give you hands-on-training with progressively expanding responsibility for the eight months of employment with us. Regular reviews keep you on track and as your apprenticeship ends, you either receive an offer of full-time, permanent employment with us or our help in finding your next position.

Internships at Deksia provide a fast-paced introduction to what life is like in a nimble marketing agency. You will gain exposure to real clients, learn the ropes, apply your skills, and receive hands-on mentorship from experienced professionals.

While the work and the experience are real, we take seriously the part that we’re able to play in our interns’ education and development. We take pride in the frequent comments from interns that they learned more in three months at Deksia than they did in four years of college.
