Roles

  • Role 1: Product Development, Process, and Quality
      • Summary: Maintain product development document and review for needed additions/changes. 
  • Responsibilities:
        • Owner of Near Miss documentation - use as a coaching tool to improve operational performance/processes
        • Make sure products and pricing in HubSpot are accurate and up-to-date
        • Facilitate new product conversations with team members to identify new opportunities
        • Facilitator of weekly client off-track meetings
  • Competencies: 
      • Capable of assessing and assigning product pricing to provide appropriate value to the client and Deksia
      • Build and manage systems for KPIs to measure quality

 

  • Role 2: Cross Department Collaboration
    • Summary: To ensure that projects stay on track from a budgeting and timeline perspective, it is important to facilitate communication opportunities among the departments
    • Responsibilities: 
      • Facilitator of weekly client off-track meetings 
      • Owner of the O10 weekly
      • Effectively communicate and work with counterparts
    • Competencies:  
      • Great oral and written communication
      • Ability to incorporate new and use existing technology to ensure communication flows smoothly
      • Ability to organize and prioritize

 

  • Role 3: Cost Management
      • Summary: Collect, analyze, and report cost information to more effectively budget, forecast, and monitor costs.
  • Responsibilities: 
        • Review and analyze company procedures to measure efficiency and effectiveness
        • Evaluate organizational performance - do operational practices align with company goals and objectives
        • Make tough decisions for the best of the clients and Deksia 
        • Manage contractors costs and contracts 
  • Competencies:
      • Ability to work and develop spreadsheets
      • An understanding of cost drivers 



  • Role 4: Leadership + Management = Accountability (LMA)
    • Summary: Use the EOS tools that improve your communication skills, help create clearer expectations, and prepare you to manage common team issues.
  • Responsibilities: 
    • Maintain an effective scorecard for your team 
    • Runs weekly O10 and admin to-dos
    • Grow the team through effective feedback & coaching in weekly Syncs
    • Train new team members for the department
    • Effectively lead and manage interns, apprentices and account associates 
    • Maintain an excellent understanding of our business, products, and processes
    • Seek professional development opportunities for yourself and team members
  • Competencies: 
    • 5+ years experience in operations management or relevant position with a desire to be a leader. 
    • Ability to navigate uncomfortable conversations

In nearly every case, our apprentices have completed their internship at Deksia, distinguished themselves, and shown the ability to make strong contributions in an area of need.

Apprenticeships are full-time paid positions and structured to give you hands-on-training with progressively expanding responsibility for the eight months of employment with us. Regular reviews keep you on track and as your apprenticeship ends, you either receive an offer of full-time, permanent employment with us or our help in finding your next position.

Internships at Deksia provide a fast-paced introduction to what life is like in a nimble marketing agency. You will gain exposure to real clients, learn the ropes, apply your skills, and receive hands-on mentorship from experienced professionals.

While the work and the experience are real, we take seriously the part that we’re able to play in our interns’ education and development. We take pride in the frequent comments from interns that they learned more in three months at Deksia than they did in four years of college.
